Pierson "Pete" Bigelow, owner of Windy Hill Stables, has been working with horses since he was a little boy. Pete has owned horses his entire adult life and as part of a large family, farmed with horses on the Bigelow fields. He has more years experience working with horses than he wants to admit publicly. For twenty years he participated in competing in Maryland's State Sport- Jousting, and most recently has been competing under the new and exciting sport of Cowboy Mounted Action Shooting. Windy Hill Stables was established in 1990 as a logical continuation of his work with horses under harness. He is assisted in the business by his wife Lynda.
The horses of Windy Hill Stables receive quality care and grooming. They get new shoes every 6 to 8 weeks, regular veterinary checkups, all annual vaccinations, and regular dental care. They are fed good grain daily and given choice hay in addition. They spend most of their time lounging in our large pastures. On average they work two days a month with the exception of the Christmas holiday season. These horses are our partners in business, and they're practically children to us. They live at our home and are the best part of our daily lives. We love to talk horse and always welcome questions.
